Track and Road Disc

Hey All,
So my gf is going to track nationals and is thinking of getting a disc. Obviously I’d like to BUY her the disc as a congratulations gift, and more just cuz i like her a ton. However, selfish me would love to be able to use it also for my tri’s. What disc has the best interconversion so that we could switch between her felt tk2 (sweet bike by the way SD) and my qroo seduza. I’m not talking about swapping it like every week, but maybe 3 - 4 times a year.

Thanks for any input.

-Paul

P.S. I’m a grad student, so a $2400 zipp isn’t HIGH on the list (not ruling anything out, but less expensive would be better).

corima
.

how easy is the conversion back and forth between track wheel and normal 10spd road wheel on a corima?

Bear in mind that a Corima disc must be purchased “pre drilled” for the track adapter. If you were to acquire a 2nd hand Corima disc that wasn’t set up initially to be track hub swappable, you’d need to ship it to France to be modified at the factory. Of course by the time you pay for all that you might as well have bought a new disc…

Just something to consider.

I think that the Zipp disks convert pretty easily. They may have the instructions on their website to checkout.

did you ever reach a conclusion?
i am in a similiar position.
did you go with the corima?? or zipp?

have you used the hed adapter kit?
is it difficult to use?/take long to do?

i have been doing some research and the pro lite padova disc or the corima both look a good option.
do you know anything about which is a better option?

zipp is out of the question; too expensive unless its second hand.

Pro-Lite (a kiwi brand) makes a disc (the Padova) that can swap very easily. It’s made for both so the spacing is correct for your chainline on the track. I assume the other convertible discs have the same thing, but I don’t know. It takes less than a minute to swap the hub, plus the time to put on your cog/lockring or cassette- very easy. I got mine on closeout for $700, but I think they’re more typically around $1000.

It runs in the opposite direction for road/track so you have to choose which direction you will mount your tubular if you use a directional tread like on a vittoria open coursa CX. I would guess it’s the same deal with the other wheels also.
