Tour de France pool for ST'ers: looking for advice

I’m in the planning process of a pool for slowtwitchers. Right now my idea was for each person to choose 5 riders. Points will be awarded based on the following: (all final GC) 50 points for picking the tour winner, 30 2nd place, 25 third, 20 fourth, 15 fifth, 10 for sixth place and 5 points for a 7-10 place riders. Additionally award 10 points for a stage winner (prologue included), 10 points for final king of Mtns, 10 points for winning final sprinters jersey. Tie breaker to be closest pick to the winning time in L’Alpe-d’Huez, stage 15.

I’m working on a prize, probably a gift certificate at a bike shop with mail order. No cost for the pool, thus the prize will be modest ($20). This is intended to promote conversation and interest.

Also, I can do it, but I’m not the best so if anyone has an idea for a excel spreadsheet to track the pool points, I’d like to hear it.

Finally, I know I’ll get many suggestions , and that is my goal. For the first year I want to keep this simple and avoid disputes.

Check out the game on cyclingnews.com for suggestions on structure/points/tracking. I played it last year and it was a fun way to plug into the tour from other perspectives than the obvious GC angle.

Thanks for the reference. I looked it over; it seems fairly complicated in terms of tracking points, etc. I had in mind something more like a NCAA basketball pool. I like some of their ideas though, I wish I had the $$$ for prizes like they offer.
