Total feet of climbing at IMC?

Does anyone have the number?

Thanks,
-C

I would say roughly 3000-3500 feet just by eyeballing the profile

.

5500 - 5800
.

According to a mapped ride on MapMyRide.com it’s 4078ft: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/canada/bc/penticton/287422059

Someone else claims it’s 6700+ft here but a lot of folks seem to beleive these numbers are high.

Does anyone have an “official” answer on this? Hard to believe that this isn’t well documented somewhere?!

Fred

I guess the problems in getting accurate numbers for this is access to high density elevation/GPS data.

In terms of meaningful data - to a cyclist - do you want every foot of ascending road including small rollers and <0.5% stretches or do want the sum of the “climbs”, i.e Richter, Yellow, the big rollers in between and that little hill just after you clear town at the beginning?

I’d guess the mapmyride.com data is pretty damn close to accurate for our purposes. It uses the same geological data anyone else would access right? I think some of the higher numbers come from less accurate measuring methods like Polar watches on course.

if you got bored during taper… figuring that out would just be a bunch of trig problems, right?
