most boring = traffic

Paid boredom: proctoring ACT and SAT tests. Five hours staring at 16 year olds sweating over a test booklet.

Most boring: Folding laundry. Hate it!!!

Try taking the damn things. Unless you have an IQ under 73 they’re pure torture of the most mundane variety. It’s the mental equivalent of doing pushups in zero gravity…for four hours straight. And your ass goes numb, but you can only move so much before the shitwad (no offense, I just had some irritating proctors) staring over your shoulder starts thinking you’re attempting to cheat somehow, regardless of being eight pages ahead of the morons around you.

My top five include:

  1. Swimming in a pool
  2. nothing else comes close.

The trainer used to be stunningly boring but an iMagic cured that.

Most boring: Folding laundry. Hate it!!!
I can completely agree with this.

Also boring: standing in long line at check out without a book or without being able to read World Weekly News Headlines (they’re a riot).

Boring
4th hour straight alone in the spin room
Pool swimming

Most Exciting
Racing
Lining up pre-race at a tri
Sitting in the stands for the opening of big ten play in football
Any sort of competition that I am involved in. I am a competitive person so that could be anything including many things that one would NEVER consider a competition.

Most boring: being injured or not able to train or simply to move and exercise

Most enjoyable: crossing a finish line, training on a sunny day and feeling I can go on for ever, so many other things in life
.

most boring: me sitting on a trainer

least: my wife sitting on me

  1. Laundry
  2. Traffic
  3. Work (some days)
  4. Sleeping
  5. Unloading the dishwasher
  6. Picking up dog turds
  7. Putting gas in my car - I know its <1 min
  8. Being on hold with customer service --cough VERIZON!
  9. Walking
  10. Sorting junk mail.

I’m big on multi-tasking my boring activities.

Think I can get my girlfriend on me while I’m on the trainer? Maybe I should fold my laundry while in traffic? Or maybe I can take ‘good care’ of my girlfriend so that she (claims she doesn’t mind) folds my laundry for me. Then we both ride together (two separate trainers).

I absolutely hate hate laundry - even when I get it folded, I usually run out of steam before it gets put away. Then while I’m at work my dog rummages through dragging it onto the bed for her to sleep on.

dudes, I hear the laundry thing man, especially folding. My wife despises the fact that my laundry will sit in a basket for weeks unfolded. Man I despise it with a passion. I am just trying to do it once a week these days, even that is incredibly difficult.

running on a treadmill, like I say there is never a reason to run on one. It’s never too cold or hot to run outside.

Fencing with a flexible sword? why not the real thing? this sport has more rules than monopoly! you can’t take a 2nd swipe until your opponent has tried out his sword. very polite but…

I love doing laundry so that one is not boring for me. Running on a treadmill is #1. The storm just blew in so it looks like #1 boring this afternoon.

"Fencing.

Never tried it, but I just don’t see why the heck is so appealing about making a sport out of trying to poke someone with a flexible sword."

My mother was a fencer. You may not like it but it is an extreme skill sport; sort of a cross between ballet and surgery.

Treadmill.
Ergometer.
Standing in a bar where’s it’s too loud to hear, has no good beer, and you can’t leave without being rude.

#1 Most boring: deleting e-mails promoting increased penis size.

#1 Least boring - actually increasing penis size.

heh.

PoC

I’m the freak that thought the logicical reasoning section of GREs was a fun challenge. Only darn 800 I managed out of the three subtests.

Most boring list:
1)TPS Reports
2)Unexpected traffic (driving in car)
3)Edging the yard manually
4)Contemplating Paper vs. Plastic, thoroughly evaluating the pro’s and con’s
5)Meetings that last more than 20 minutes
6)Talking heads running the meetings lasting more than 20 minutes
7)Revised TPS Reports
8)“How to Paint With Watercolors” shows on PBS midday Saturdays
9)Counting over 100 for anything
10)The 47th minute in a 4,200 yd swim

Least boring list in no particular order:
1)Unexpected traffic (riding on bike, riding on the double yellow line in the middle of the road because of traffic jams in both directions and zero shoulder to ride on)
2)Creek hiking with the family
3)Trail running in the early morning (no music)
4)Pre-sunrise open water swims, having the sun rise over the trees while you are out in the lake
5)Fellowship rides with authentic friends who do it for the same reason you do (because you enjoy it), and have similar abilities and hold you accountable to prioritize the truly important stuff in life
6)5 minutes before the start of an Ironman,
7)5 minutes before the end of an Ironman
8)Staying in your aerobars on descents over 40mph on the Blue Ridge Parkway (man I wish I didn’t live 7 hours away)
9)Seeing your family out on the Ironman course right when things are starting to feel tough, giving you a huge mental boost while making you get weepy because you recognize that its been a family effort to get to the START line
10)Knowing truth in life

I cannot sit on my trainer longer than an hour…please what is an imagic???

eh, I’m with you on this. I can get it washed and dried, but I hate folding and putting away. Right now my laundry table and spare bed are covered with clean clothes.
