I have a Felt B16 that I got on ebay, and I just finished building it up yesterday. I put some carbon paste on the seatpost before inserting it, and wow that thing barely moves up and down. Micro adjusting the seatpost is pretty much impossible because of the effort it takes to slide it up or down, even with the seatpost clamp fully loosened. It’s extremely tight and I could probably ride the bike without even tightening the clamp much.
Should I take it out and wipe off the paste, or is that how tight it’s supposed to be?

Yes take out and clean before you can’t, did a similar thing with my Venge, only needs a little amount.
Wipe off some paste maybe there is too much. Wifey has a B12, you have to tap the underneath of the seat to gradually raise or tap the top to gradually lower. I just use a wrench, however hard you tap is how far it’s going to move. She does not use much carbon paste, uses it mainly to stop creaks rather than hold the seat post but she is very light so …
