Tokyo golds poll

Still waiting for Dan to throw a poll for the olympics… I will copy from the shorch chute triathlon podcast by Macca and I will predict golds:

Women: Duffy
Men: Gomez
MTR: NZ

I’ll have a go…

Women. Duffy (though I’d obvs like a British 1-2-3 with Learmonth on the top step)

Men. I can’t look past Vincent Luis for gold. With a cheeky podium for Alex Yee. (though Jonny B would be of course make all if Britain happy)

Mixed. France.

Women - Duffy if it is a breakaway Spirig if it isn’t.

Men - Luis

Relay - France

Women: Knibb
Men: Luis
.

I literally came on here to do a predict your medlist thread…

Mens 1.Yee
2. Mola
3. Geens
With no Alistair no break will stick, this is turning into a pure bunched foot race I think.

Women 1. GTB
2. Duffy
3. Learmoth

Duffy will kill herself keeping the Spirig train at bay and take an edge off her run allowing GTB to out run her for the Gold.

Men:
Yee
Mislawchuk
Luis

Women:
Duffy
Spirig
GTB

I’d have Luis at the top, but no idea where he is right now regarding form or injury niggles. Duffy is probably more of a hopeful pick - I’d love to see her back to her dominance of a few years ago.

Men: Luis

kind of hope it’s not, and in that scenario Vincent Luis or Morgan Pearson would be my favourites in the men, but I think as you said no break will stick and it’s going to be a race between the best runners and among those who made the second pack at least (which subsequently caught the first pack breakaway) and can run well off that particular bike. So my top picks for the men in that case would be (in no particular order) Alex Yee, Mario Mola, Max Studer, Jelle Geens, possibly Blumenfeldt too. I’ll go with Yee for the win, since I have to pick one.

Girls: opposite scenario, with a break sticking (including GTB, Learmonth, Duffy, Kingma, possibly Zaferes if she can regain her top swim form). Win is between GTB and Duffy in that case, and I’ll go with GTB.
