Today's MTB ride in pictures (warning about 30pics!) edit: +pics from Francois' ride

So this MTB route that I do has plenty of good photo opps and I figured since it was going to be a nice day (morning at least) I would take the photo gear with me this time. This is what my ride looked like today. It was just above 0Deg C when I left, the sun was out and there was a nice blue sky. You’ll see how the weather changed along the way. If you’re thinking there’s a ton of photos (I warned you), I was out for about 5hrs.

Is this considered OT?

Well, here you go (pics or it didn’t happen / doesn’t exist and all that)…

About 30mins into the ride:

Awesome!!! Let me do the same for the ride this morning…definitely less trees

Cool. People should do it more often. Let’s start a trend:)

That is just awesome. Where do you live in Switzerland? One of my best buddies, Urs Fitzi, lives there.

Glad you liked them. I live just outside of Zurich.

Earth at it’s finest! Beautiful pic’s thanks for sharing!

here are mine…definitely not as green…and the trees are a lot shorter

Just heading out, 1/2 mile from home in the upper valley:

Still warming up on the flat, going towards the Rio Grande:

starting to go up, with the Franklin Mountains in the brackground:

Now it gets a lot ‘rockier’, not very stable there:

Some of the short, steep, rocky climbs we get here with a little switchback (that you can’t see) at the bottom:

It’s easy, put your wheel where there are no rocks:

The gasline trail:

Entering Franklin State Park:

The ENEMY (try to avoid it when you crash):

Darn, where is the trail?:

A lame destabilization attempt from the enemy:

Apologies to the northerners
.

That’s awesome. Completely different weather/terrain. On the way home, once the sun had gone, I had 5 layers on. Looks like you’re still wearing shorts…

Started at 10.30am…not too chilly but it’s cold at 8am…the trails go up to about 6000ft so it’s pretty cold. However, it nearly always warms up later during the day.

That is beautiful. I really hope you never get tired of that scenery.

I dunno why, but it reminds me a lot of the area around Lake Louise in Banff Nat’l Park. Amazing country there also.

Thanks for the photos,

Daniel

Great pics thanks. What kind of camera set up did you use.

Wow, beautiful. Thanks for posting those. Awesome. Definately NOT O.T. I appreciate you putting them up here.

I used a Canon G3 (I don’t think they make them anymore - although they still have the G range) and a tripod + neutral density filter (software in camera) for the long exposure shots.

I loved the scenic pics. The Lake, the alps and FRACOUS Tan leg!

hi Callidus,

great photos, I loved them. ST could use more of this ind of thread.

Jim

Switzerland is on of my most favorite places!! You’re very lucky, what a beautiful place!!

Is that the Bachtel?

Hey Francois. Your socks are too clean. We got to get you into some of the mud here in the north east. We’ll add some wet roots and rock for free.

We have a winner  (I take it you’ve been there).

btw I like the pics on your webpage.

not sure how you could possibly get MORE rocks than here…
however, mud that should be too hard…the good thing is that mud
has a hard time getting down to your lungs whereas dust…
