To train or not to train.... (1)

Should I train??? I have an Upper Respiratory infection that I am on antibiotics for and have been for 2 days… I feel kinda ok except for low energy and a very dry annoying cough. If I ask anyone else they will tell me I am crazy so does anybody have any advice?? Thanks.

If it is in the chest, nope.

But use the excuse to give yourself a little rest.

There are rules of thumb…chest don’t ; head ok. I however am much smarter than everyone else so I tend to ignore the rules!
Honestly, I woukd do very easy run and get some of the gu out of my lungs. Or a spin on the bike just to keep moving and not feel even worse for taking time off.

Antibiotics? Seriously? How bad a cold is it?

For me its pretty simple: if I feel like training I do that and if i feel like S(&^$ and want to lay in bed and take a nap I do that.

Rest. You probably can’t have a quality workout when sick. Better to heal quicker, than prolong an illness because you didn’t want to miss a workout.

And if I’m not feeling the love during the workout, I pull the plug.

Just listen to your body. If it’s just a little cold I’m usually up for working out. They’re just usually at a lighter intensity for shorter duration.

If it’s really and then I’ll get some rest. Though I’m always surprised at how weak I feel coming back from the flu or something similar.
