the watch simply is not waterproof. my third watch let in water after yesterdays swim. excellent customer service in quickly getting me a new unit for 7$ +S/H each time (even though i bought the original unit new on ebay), but it aint that hard to make a WP watch these days. Its a shame b/c the HR reception is great, and the S&D is fun albeit completely unnecessary.
Just don’t push the buttons under water. Every problem I have heard of was caused by that. I have had one for years with no problems at all.

Mine worked great - surfing/swimming - I’d even push the buttons under water for 100 splits in 500’s and 1000’s - until I had a jeweler change the battery - then swam - then it blew up…
Do you think they will give me a new one if I send it in? Whats the address? Are all S adn D watches compatible with the GPS units?
