Timex ironman gps/ cadence only?

I have a timex ironman gps with the cadence/speed sensor. I can’t get the cadence only to pick up. I want to use that instead of speed/cadence since my bike frame is too far from the wheel for the speed sensor to register. Anyone else use something cadence only so the gps will register speed?

Why would you need anything on the bike to measure speed for your GPS? Are you with BodyLink?

He wants to measure cadence only. I think he is saying that the watch isn’t getting the speed from gps but from the sensor which isn’t close enough to pick up speed.

Um…but it does not need a wheel sensor for speed…

I know but I think that his problem is the watch is trying to pick up the sensor speed and not the gps speed. I don’t think its letting him use both at the same time.

I had a similar issue… just needed to update the firmware.

Exactly, if you are on the cadence only setting it will not use the cadence sensor since it also has a speed sensor. It wont do both speed and gps. I will try updating the firmware, thanks!
