All I said was that it would make sense to fit a tri bike in a different way to save part of your legs for the run.
You are right that this is a plausible theory, but it may be the case, and appears to be the case, that the optimal position for time trialing happens to be more or less the same for triathlon (Assuming similar distances anyway)
This makes some sense, as the most powerful/efficient position is one that will get you the most speed with less leg work regardless of the event.
