Time RXS vs. Time Xpresso

I’m a long time RXS user b/c I found them to be better than all other pedals on the market.

The Xpresso is super light and retains (apparently/allegedly) the same winning qualities as the RXS.

Can someone with experience with both pedals please comment on the Xpresso’s feel, retention, or q-factor which is supposed to be one of the most narrow on the market.

Thx!

While I cannot speak with any authority on the technical side of Q factor of the Xpresso pedals, I can say the feel & retention is near-identical to that of the RXS pedals. Cornering clearance on them is outstanding. At present, I ride Xpresso 6 and prefer them to other Time systems I’ve ridden since 2001.

Disengagement is far less “choppy” (for lack of a better term) than predecessors; engagement is like buttah. Cleat wear is better than the iClic series, though not as good as the RXS, presuming I recall correctly.

I rode the Time Ulteam RSX titanium pedals for a long time. I still have a set on my tt bike but am considering going to the Xpresso 8’s this next season. I have about 7,000 miles on my Xpresso 12’s on my road bike. The only real difference is the pedal engagement. It takes a lot more force to get into the RXS pedals where the Xpresso just trip the latch when stepping in with the cleat. Everything else feels the same. Plus the are 21 grams lighter than my RSX pedals.

Thanks to both responders for sharing your insights.
