Time rxs pedals

It seems like there is a mixed review on these pedals, are they worth the money and are they reliable? I’m currently using el-chepo nashbar pedals with sidi road shoes. I would like a good set of reliable pedals that wont tear up my knees. I like the increased surface area of the time rxs but I know some people on slowtwitch say they are junk, was this a recall issue or what.
thanks Lucky

4 bikes, all Time, all fine (well, one has the older Impact series, and one is a MTB w/ ATACs, but still).

Love mine…but, switching to SMp
.

I’m absolutely a believer in them. I have them on… three bikes right now. Here’s our take on them:

I am pretty sure this is what I have on my Lucero (and some “basic” Look Keo if I recall correctly on my road bike - they came with the bike) and with limited experience using those guys (last 3 years), I cannot think of a single reason why I would change. But then I have nothing to really compare against.

Tom, the one thing I hate about my speedplay pedals is the amount of up and down float or resistance - in your article you say the Time RXS pedals allows the selection of 3 levels of recentering force. How stiff can the tension go on these pedals and would you consider the Time RXS to do the best job at this or some other pedal to bea better “recenterer”?

Thanks!

I have them on both the road and tri bikes and like them. The only gripe is that the Cafe Cleat gets torn up pretty easily when I coast to a stop and kind of drag one foot; one of the little platic risers at the rear of the cleat snags on the ground and rips off. Other than this they are good pedals. Easy in / out which is a huge plus.

Boy oh boy, I could not beleive what I was reading. I know it took you some time to get used to the pedals, but I am very very happy to know that you think the SMp is worth the change. It always seems that I am pushing that big weight up the hill, of being a one man show, but it pays off big time

I have been using them on the rollers and getting more comfortable with the release. I cant say that I “see” my watts going higher with the pedals on the Powertap…but, I do feel that they are diffrent than the Time pedals (just in the fact that I have to lower my seat).

Just give it a little time. You will notice the difference once you are on the pedals only, and then go back to your previous choice.

I have them i got them for free… Im not sure If I like them or not.

Since you got them for free, I do not know if they are prototypes or production. Are they vertical or horiz release.
