Timberman vs Steelhead

Which one to do? I know nothing about either course. Need an August race and sat on my a$$ to long for Boulder

one is likely to be a triathlon the other a duathlon.

Never done Steelhead but Timbermann is a great race. Flat lake swim easy transition area (Can even park your car in transition area the day before to drop off your bike and chill for a while no rush), bike not very technical only a few hills and the run is somewhat flat. Overall great race and the locals are great. The hotels are reasonable and great places to eat beforehand. Love that race.

GL with your decision.

I have done both and prefer Timberman. That said Steelhead is beautiful too. I guess it depends on how far you want to drive.

Timberman is a great race. Logistics are a challenge and most hotels charge a minimum two night stay. The hills on the bike are challenging. The swim is great, the run has great views of the lake. Support at both races great. Steelhead has a few enjoyable wineries about a 30 minute drive away. Either one will be a great race. Put Boulder on for next year. You will not be disappointed. Regards, Doug

Both are great events - Steelhead is a very nice event. Fantastic Beach and a nice community. Easy to get to from Chicago. You will not be disappointed in either race. Z

I have not done Steelhead but Timberman was a fun race, great aid stations on the run (the local hockey team does a snowball station, nice in 90* summer heat) and the lake swim was nice.
Beautiful area!

i think Timberman is sold out already though?

i did Steelhead, it’s a nice race. Nothing special, but i enjoyed it.

Nope, not yet

Says ’ Registration is now closed’.

I doubt it will sell out at all, especially with AG Nats being the same weekend. Maybe Vegas spots will even be easier to come by with a lot of the fast people up here in BTV.

That’s not the Timberman that everyone else has been talking about: http://www.ironmantimberman.com
.

Ha, sorry about that! It’s been a long morning for me
