Timberman fill up?

Got a bad Achilles and just skipped my 70.3 race. Thinking about Timberman but don’t want to sign up until my leg has cleared up.

Does Timberman usually fill up or am I safe to wait 3-4 weeks?

It filled up the year that I did it but that was years ago. I had a great time, it was an awesome race.

I was in a similar boat last year and registered the week before You should be fine but maybe watch the FB page as they usually will put updates when getting close to filling.

It hasn’t sold out in years and last year a friend of mine even signed up on site the day before. That said, someone did tell me that apparently it is filling faster than usual this year, so maybe just keep your eyes open as I’m sure they will give a warning if it is getting close to filling, but you should be ok to wait.

My guess is that it may fill because of 70.3 WC slots and that the WC will be in the US in 2017. Competition will probably be a little stiffer than other years because of this.

I think Nate is correct. It looks like it’s probably pretty close. Right now the race list (as of June 8) has about 2,000 people on it. Not sure what capacity would be for this race, but I bet we’re getting close.

I also agree that this race is gonna bring out some playas in every age group since it has 50 slots to Chattanooga and one of the first in North America to do so. I 'd think you won’t get a lot of roll-downs in the first few 70.3 races, until we see how slots are allocated outside of N/A.

Interested to see how it plays out in the next few weeks with Muncie, Vineman, Steelhead, etc.
