Tifosi sunglasses - thoughts?

I see these at the LBS and I’m curious if people like them and if they are any good.
Thoughts good and bad.
Just need some sunglasses on the cheap ($50-$80)since I seem to break every pair.

I’ve used them - for the same reasons. I tend to lose and break my glasses. I think they fit smaller faces better, but I got good service out of mine - until I sat on them…

I’ve had good luck with them.

Right now I’m working with a $9 pair of Dewalt work glasses I got from Lowe’s. Won’t break, won’t scratch and feel pretty good. I can’t get rid of them

So…why not buy a pair that have free replacement for a year, and $15 per incident after that? aka Oakley.

I like mine. $30 from performance, with 3 lenses. I’m used to my oakley bike glasses and when I wear the tifosi’s I have to get use to the frame around the side edges. Just a pet peeve of mine. But when driving I really have to check the blind spot b/c the glasses frame can block some peripheral vision.

I look for the one’s that have an adjustable nose piece, they have many models.

I have 2 pairs of them and really like them. I also like the price.

They are pretty durable as far as I’m concerned and come with a case and different color lenses.

I got a pair of Tifosi Slips on bonktown for $29.99. They came with 4 lenses and the little bag that is also a lens cloth. I raced in them for the first time last weekend and had no problems. I use them as a training/race only set and I don’t think you can beat them for the price.

I paid $30 for mine & would buy another pair if I needed more. I get the same performance as those big name, expensive sunglasses for what, 1/5 the cost? Good option if want sunglasses & not a name.

Great sunglasses - I’ve been using them for years. They’re inexpensive, durable and light. Some models come with multiple lenses (which is handy if it’s raining or the weather is mixed) and they also make photochromic lenses now. Tifosi also makes replacement ear/nose pieces for several of its models (~5 bucks).

I don’t want to have to treat my sunglasses like a baby.

I wear them almost exclusively. Cheap light and durable. They make a frameless version that wont interfere with your vision but I cant remember the model.

I have 2 pairs of the Tifosi Logic (white and black). Let me just say they are awesome! I have a pair of Oakley Radar Range as well, and yes it is a better lens, but after scratching them so many times badly, and breaking ear pieces, etc, I got tired of the high costs of repairs for Oakley out of warranty, as well as the long turnaround time. But in the last turnaround time I went and tried out the Logics and they are really very nice, alot nicer than their prices on bonktown, ebay, amazon, etc. I would best describe the logics as a mix between the oakley radars and the old school oakley razor blades. They are very adjustable, and seem to stick on a sweaty head just as good as the oakleys (yes, the oakleys also slip a little, unobtanium or not). I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Good luck.

I wore Tifosi Slips for the better part of a year. They were a good middle of the road pair. After a few months, the rose-colored lenses seemed to wear out. They weren’t scratched, but just seemed to have a smudge on them that wouldn’t come clean. Near the end of their life, the rubber at the end of one of the temple pieces broke off.

If you’re looking for shades in the $30-$60 range, I’d check out Ryders. I’m currently riding with their VTX model. They’re more durable, have adjustable temple and nose pieces, and don’t slide down my face. Plus, they’ll show up dirt cheap on Bonktown from time to time.

I use the rimless pair (forget the model)…great for aero position.

tifosi arent bad sunglasses and better than others its price, hence its popularity.

if i had to make a sunglass recommendation it would be smith optics pivlock v90 (the max version has a bit too much coverage and doesnt vent as well). theyre extremely light, minimal and dont block your vision in the aero position.

I like them. I have a couple pair

I’m a fan of the Native brand, they cost more but the frames are very sturdy and the lenses resist scratching.

I have a set of these as well, but the Max version (I like the added coverage). And I agree that these are great sunglasses, no complaints at all. I tend to use them sparingly, as well as my radars (I baby them). Smith also has good customer service. But I still think for the price/style/customer service combo, its hard to beat Tifosi.

I had a pair, and switched to Oakley’s… haven’t looked back since!

Tifosi backs every model with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. If you still have the lenses, please contact Tifosi customer service at 877-530-0815 or info@tifosioptics.com.

Tifosi Vogel is a good recommendation. 24 grams. Hydrophilic rubber adjustable temples & nose piece. Grips through sweat. Eight style combos including two in Fototec photochromic lenses. http://www.tifosioptics.com/...sport=Cycling|Run/
