Tibial periostitis-any suggestions to hasten recovery

I have been struggling with a running injury post a 70.3 late last year. MRI in January showed a nasty medial tibial stress syndrome. Took 6 weeks off running completely under advice from the sports doc team. Slowly easing back into things now and still really sore. Repeat MRI shows improved but still present periostitis in that region but thankfully no fractures etc.
It bloody hurts and even shortish 15-20 min runs are enough to make me need anti-inflammatories for the rest of the day.
Any suggestions on treatments to quicken the recovery? I am supposed to have another 70.3 in 7 weeks time which I doubt I can prepare for at this rate, happy to write it off but also happy to try anything to get this better sooner (I miss my long weekend runs). I don’t see my specialist for another week…

Have you tried Physical Therapy? It has helped me in the past. They used a Graston on me and it seemed to help speed recovery.

Thanks, yes under the care of a physio but have not tried Graston, was thinking about that as an option.

Has anyone addressed your foot/ankle function, and pronation? You can wait all you want for the bone to heal, but the forces acting on the tibia need to be dealt with.
