whatre your thoughts on dura ace time trial levers. I have some profile design ones that came on my 2012 p2.
brakes are currently FSA looking at potentionally making ultegra in the future. I saw that the description said the pull is meant to work with Dura-Ace brakes to optimize the braking. Would it not be worth it with FSA brakes?
If you’re upgrading the brakes to have something a little “nicer”, then Ultegra is fine.
But, if your reason to upgrade is to go faster, then you should take a look at tririg.com’s white paper on brakes. There’s also a nice review of Profile’s full carbon levers.
I swapped out my Vision levers on myold P2 for the DA ones…MASSIVE difference. The return spring in the lever made all the difference in how the brakes felt.

So worth changing? I am debating upgrade my alloy t2+ wing and t4 extensions and Profile design alum brakes that came stock with
DA Levers
3t brezza team I… amazon has them for 258 originally 700$. 200g savings. More aero… looks nice.
Idk whats different between Brezza I and II. extensions are alloy not carbon but thats okay. I am right now on a ski bend it seems these are the s bends.
Also considering changing out all the cables with the jagwire pro derailleur and brake cables. Never changed cables on a bike can you really tell a difference with nice cables?
The Ultegras are not in the paper. I suspect they’re not measurably different from the D/A. My poin is spending money to upgrade a Tri bikes brakes to anything other than and aero brake is nice, but won’t get you any speed. If money is titgh put an aero brake on the front only.
Be careful and inspect which Brezza you are getting… Some run the brake cables out of the bottom and others run through the back (super clean)… Can’t remember which one does which but I remember that being a big problem
I think you’ll like upgrading the bars and levers more. $258 for the Brezza is a great deal. I’ve just switched from the Vision levers (no return spring and they rattle) to the Profile carbon. The Profiles have a return spring and only weigh 11 more grams. The D/A levers add another 14 grams, but can usually be had for $50 less than the Profiles. I just liked the look of the Profiles better.
I’m trying to decide if I do change. Should I change the levers as well as the bars. Or put back my profile levers now. And if changing the cables is worth it. I have 1 brake and 1 derailleur cable that is frayed. But isn’t causing any issues.
So either change cable or all th cables and housing to a nice set up. Also I see that the da levers said works to pull with 9000 brakeset. I have the Faa so does that mean not worth changing?

“worth it” is unfortunately a subjective statement. For me, yes it was worth it. I was not very happy with the performance of the stock P2 brakes / levers. When I switched to the DA levers, things changed considerably. That said, I got them stoopid-cheap from trisports.com (I think) and they were only about $25. Dunno if I would have dropped regular price on them…
But it was a significant performance improvement…but you can probably also find similar performance improvement by using another lever with a return spring (a critical element, IMO)

Nope. I got the full carbon ones. Just because I wanted them. The semi-carbon one have the same features, though. I forgot which part of the semis isn’t carbon.
Yeah, kept the stock brakes that came with the bike (FSA)…switched out cables because of differences in the lever designs, but did not use anything special. Regular ol’ cables and housing.
