Has anyone used this instead of popping salt pills? How does it make the drinks taste? I’m looking for any alternative to popping 25-30 pills over the course of an ironman bike ride.
Thanks,
-Colin

Never used those… i’ve always had good luck with endurolytes from Hammer… havent experimented much as they’ve worked for me…
I have been using Base Electrolyte salt for 6 months now and all the other products. the salt doesn’t ruin any of my drinks and i have literally had ZERO cramps since using it. I live in Houston Texas and it is HOT here. Long rides, races, whatever…the stuff works and it is nice not having to “pop pills” while riding the bike…great stuff

Good to hear. How many “servings” do you put in a bottle?
Hammer Endurolytes = rice flour. Look at the ingredients.
I have used since they came out and have had great luck. How many scoops is based on what I am putting in and it’s current electrolye profile…
For instance I iused first endurance liquid shot and add it too a flask then add 1-3 scoops of the salts based on how hot but rarely I put 3 , but the LS has a solid profile to start with, most other products dont.
I hate salt pills while I ride too, this helps lots too.
My first bottle of water (only carry one bottle on bike at a time) has 1-2 scoops based on temps.

Excellent, thanks for the info. My question is this: say you want to have 600mg Na per hour. That’s really not very much. And you’re doing a long race such as an IM, so you carry a bottle with three hours worth of calories in it. That means that to achieve your relatively modest sodium goals, you need to put six scoops of base into that single bottle. How is that going to taste? Would you even be able to swallow?
Thanks,

i use 3 helpings everytime. I live in a humid environment though.
