Thorn Audax

Hi ST

Does anyone have exp of Thorn bikes? http://www.thorncycles.co.uk/audaxmk3.html
A pal of mine wants a sports tourer kind of bike. He wants to do long road rides (not fast). Can’t see him ever using tri bars and I think he would like something a little old school. The Thorn bikes are steel and he seems to think he like the look of the riding position. He likes welding etc and doesnt understand the obvious advantages of carbon :wink:
Does anyone know anything about these bikes or can anyone recommend a make that will tick the required boxes?

It’s a very good old steel Audax bike, it’ll be completely different to any carbon steed, but it’s a very good winter / touring bike, certainly can’t go wrong if you like the look. Dawes will have something good in similar if you can get them.

They’re comfortable, and fun, just don’t expect to do many sprints on it.
