Myself as well as my roommates commute a lot so “we” (meaning I) fill up our tires all the time to avoid pinch flats from these rough inner city roads. Can anyone recommend a good electric compressor inflator for presta valves? Does anyone even use these?
You shouldve saved this one for Aprin 1st. It would have been hilarious then. Just kinda sad now though…
I prefaced this post by admitting that I am lazy… when is comes to some things. Thanks for the help though.
if you were really lazy, wouldn’t you commute by car, instead by bike?
stick with a floor pump, it is the vastly simpler (i.e., “lazy”) solution …

My dad uses one for his urban cruiser…but he’s 70.

I saw a Bell foot pump at MC Sports today…not sure if it’ll fit Presta however…
Just wrap your lips around it and blow. It will thank you later.
Props for commuting by bike but I’m not aware of an electric pump.
Don’t use gas station pumps because of the irregular pressure output.
If you design and develop your own electric pump from scratch, and brand it as Cervelo, all of the criticism will 180 into abject pseudo-worship.
You’re not lazy, you’re just saving your energy for when it really matters! You can find an electric pump at any auto parts store. Go to your LBS or on-line and buy a small L-shaped presta valve chuck (commonly referred to as a “crack pipe”) and insert the ridged conical end into the schraeder valve chuck of the electric pump. PM me if you need a photo for this simple rig, I’m late for work!
Doh! I just remembered a simpler solution. Since the L-shape is probably not important in this situation (as it is with some disc wheels), buy a presta valve adapter, screw it onto the presta valve of your tire/tube, and then attach the chuck of the electric pump directly to it. Cheaper than a crack pipe, and you can keep the adapter attached to the presta valve like a valve cap if you want. Of course, the roommates will then each have to buy one though. The adapter essentially converts your presta valve head into a Schraeder head, just like a car tire.
You can use a presta and schradar valve converter.
Exactly. Arrrgh, sorry Peter, just saw your post after editing mine.
HAHAHA to funny Capt Crunch LOL…
Try buying one (eletric pump) cutting off the thingy majigee, then insert the dohickey (presta valve) in there and zip tie it to tube. Duh!!!
Just wrap your lips around it and blow. It will thank you later.
It says ‘thank you’ later? And people said chivalry was dead!
There should be epic poems written in tribute to some of your posts. CaptainCanada is awesome, in case anybody was wondering.
You completely missed the point! Get rid of those tires and replace them. You will never have to pump\inflate again.
problem solved. next?

Much appreciated. I actually pay Swimfan and Khai to write for me. Pricey but worth it.
