Read only if you want to be bummed out this morning. Well meaning people like most if not everyone in here can and do disagree about politics, current events, celebrities, or whatever gets your panties in a twist these days. We can be pretty insulting to each other and are often quick to abandon logic and reason and turn a discusion of principles into personal attacks and mindless mud slinging.
I’m fine with all of that. Par for the course. I read some of it, I post in some of it. Some of it humors me and when some of it angers me I just stop reading. I assume that is absolutly typical across the board here. I participate in the ‘debate’ and I am no better or worse than those I agree or disagree with. (I just happen to be right - haha)
I do hope that unlike those discusions we indulge in that everyone that reads this story is as repulsed as I am. I sincerely hope that I am not in the minority in thinking that this woman is evil and should be voted off the island, if such things happened anymore. I know that she is not the first woman to be abusive to a child and that there are many ‘people’ just like her that exist under the radar. It still disgusts me and I would have more confidence in the world if my reaction is damn near universal.
Temporary sterilization & comprehensive rehabilitation. Like those shots or whatever that keep you sterile for 6 months. Have her in a secured rehab facility where she’s shot up with this stuff to keep her from making any more babies. Have her completely isolated from any addictive substance for the duration of her sentence and, most importantly, tie her parole to educational accomplishments.
People are like this because they come from a shitty area (note her state of origin) and are not educated.
She obviously has no hope for life, so let her find that while she’s being punished for abusing her child.
This is indeed very sad. I hate to say it but it is not unusual in many lower socioeconomic groups and some others too. This behavior happens in white, black, green, yellow, blue, and red ethnic groups. This individual and her wonderfully intelligent companion (I would guess she has a different companion for each of the children) have, most-likely NEVER contributed to our society or helped make the world a better place. Instead, they drink, steal, destroy others property (many of those people whose property is damaged, are actually trying to help them!). This is our fault as the voting public as we give them every incentive to NOT better themselves through many government programs. Who do you think is paying for her alcohol and for raising the 6 other kids–I will bet you that you and I are paying for it all. Oh, not to mention the doctor and hospital who payed for her delivery–that is cheap I hear these days! Or the fifteen Emergency Department visits in the last 2 months.
I could go on and on. But just to let everyone know, we do have free healthcare in the US. Go to any Emergency Department and you will be seen no matter what–the bill passed in the eighties that no ED can turn away anyone–but the hospital/emergency medicine physician group gets stuck with the bill (the federal government does not pay for the ED visits) which means inflated costs for those of us who take the time to ensure/work/pay for our family to have coverage.
Until these entitled individuals in our society actually contribute to the betterment of our country, we should stop providing incentives to remain parasitic.
Sorry if this incites the liberal side of the house but it is hard to have sympathy when you are victimized by a group who takes and never gives back. We should provide incentives to live healthy, work hard, and help others rather than just take handouts.
As for those that will say she has a disease and it is not her fault, tell that to the kids she has neglected and will grow up without ever knowing the possibilities they could attain, or the child who will be mentally challenged due to impaired development from alcohol. You and I will pay. Alcohol is terrible and in the uneducated or emotionally challenged, it is even more devestating. We, as a society, make it easy to continue to drink as well. I think the guy who killed the cyclist in Flagstaff (posted here) had more than one DUI in the past.
Anyway, if you read all of this, sorry to bore you.
