.

“clock”…and he did make it off the bike…I hope he gets to the line before the strike of midnight…

Just saw that he is out of T2. Chip, I keep forgetting that Matt is a fellow Illinoisian … or are we “Illini”?

Current Results:

Swim: 01:24:04

T1: 00:09:06

BIKE: 08:22:04

T2: 00:06:20

He’s got just under 7 hours to complete the 26.2

Anyone know Nice Guy Eddy’s real name?

that is going to be tough. I hope he can make it

that is going to be tough.

He’s the one that organized the ST-TNO challenge complete with DNF penalties … he’ll make it.

How is the challenge going so far?

Well, last I saw, not so hot for Nice Guy either - met him in Verona…seems like a nice feller.

Too hot for me too. Stomach/GI issues midway through a solid (though well paced) bike split landed me in the med tent. This sucks. Certainly the worst/lowest I have felt in this sport and it’s up there in terms of “life challenges.” All the preparation, planning, money, opportunity costs sum up to three letters: D N F.

so what was the offic. temp today?

Just fuel for the fire, man. Fuel for the fire.

Officially, I saw 92 with ~40-50% humidity, though I saw 96 in Verona and my friend’s car said 95. Up there.

Officially 91 in Madison today. I just got back a few minutes ago, saw the weather during half time of the packers game at Madison’s grill on my way out.

Did that this year @ IMC…i feel your pain. PB swim, PB bike, and the heat and the flu got to me on the run, wrecked my GI system…pulled out at the 1/2 marathon point…

but it’s a kick in ass for next year.

Bagley… I heard he is not having a good day, camped out at aid station for a little while, someone said he stomach flu this week.

I was volunteering in crosse plaines, alot of competitors not looking good, I saw a lot of distressed looks on the first loop! Not only did they have to deal with the heat but also the wind. But Frank Farrar (77 year old?) was looking strong! I thought today would boost me over the edge to sign for next year, but now im 50/50.

The computer on my bike said 99 on the way back from Verona about 1:30pm. ouch. Now it was a bit high because it’s in the sun, but so was my head so i can understand why i have a head-ache today.

Holy crap it was tough conditions out there. I saw a few very strong triathletes not leave T2 - or just leave and walk right back in. On the way to Mt. Horeb and on the way into Verona there were a couple sections where I think there were probably wind gusts of up to 30mph. pretty sustained at 15+

ouch. ouch. ouch.

How is the challenge going so far?

not sure how this figures into the mix of things but CCF finished, his debut Ironman in 11:56. Chalk one up for the ST guys.
