Things I love about this sport and keep me in it!

Why I love this sport –

  1. The pool sessions when it all comes together, without you having to think about it, and you can feel the speed in the water.

  2. Morning rides through the Wyle valley, mist rising off of the river, geese gliding by.

  3. Hitting the “sweet spot” on the ride, and knowing you can hold the pace forever.

  4. Finishing the last brick before your “A” race, feeling like you could hop on the bike and do it again, and thinking to yourself “I CAN DO THIS!”

  5. Crossing the finish line after a year of training – and knowing that the acheivement was yours, and no one can ever take it away.

What a great sport!

Amen brother!

The fact that anytime during a difiicult run or ride, (or, heck, just any 'ol time) you can just summon up the memory of That Finish Line, and get a blast of adrenaline & endorphins!

My M-Dot tat.

Um, all the eye candy @ events.

there’s more…I’ll add later…

swimming out for warm up in the lake of my first big event (1/2 iron) this summer, looking back at the shore and seeing over a 1000 people in wetsuits and thinging ‘holy crap, this is the big time now, I really am a part of something I love’, and feeling all the fears, nerves and insecurities fade away.

Running along the beach at sunset, another 10k to go and feeling smooth, easy and at home with my running again after so many years.
