in Klagenfurt and in Roth…
Looks like Macca (almost done) and Granger (16k) leading in Roth…
7h58.45 for Macca
.
What makes that course so fast? More than a few have gone sub-8 there right?

motorbikes around the leaders

apparently last year they had shorten the run a bit to have competitive times and make their race stand up in front of IM Frankfurt which has a stacked up field. not sure for this year though…
but the thing is the bike sure isn’t flat…the asphalte is very good but not that good and the 4h20’ or faster are just unreal…motorbikes really help
The swim is downhill : )
.
the run is also 70% on trails, in the Forest which makes it a lot easier on your legs…
and Raynard Tissink will probably take it in the next 25-30’ around 8h10 to 8h15’…
8:14 mate, not far off! What you using, playing cards???
My own opinion about Austria bike course being fast: it’s got some nice hills in it. Gives your legs some break - that’s what I think, rather than being flat all the time. Does that count?
I hated the run (but it was my first IM). Flat flat flat. The only hill was to go under the road when you are heading into the city! Nice and shady though.
