I am running long runs in the nike zoom fly sp and racing in the the nike vapor fly 4% both have a plastic upper mesh and the shoe retains very little water, however my socks are still getting totally water logged about 10 miles into runs. I was hoping to find a socks that will be so thin it wont retain much water, is that possible? Any suggestions?
I’ve had pretty good luck with Injinji socks. Currently use 6-7 pairs of their product that has cutouts for each individual toe.
The RoadRunner thin socks are my go to. They are super thin and don’t hold water. Best I’ve found
I’ve been using Balega Hidden Dry 2 socks for a while and love them. They don’t stay dry, but they are super thin so meet your criteria of not retaining a lot of water. They are skin tight and don’t even notice you have them on. Plus, at least for me, they stay in place and don’t rub no matter how soaked they get = no blisters!
I’ll second the Road Runner socks.
I have used them in two rainy IM races with no blisters. (Both on bike and run)
Naturally they get wet, but I don’t notice any squishyness.

i’ve used injinji and feetures and love both! ran boston in the injinjis this year and no blisters!
Go with no sock…just toughen your soft little feet up.
Wont hold in heat and wont adsorb water.
Silk socks are among the thinnest possible and retain absolutely no water they basically come dry out of the washing machine

My feet sweat tremendously, so I wear these under my normal running socks. They’re super cheap (like $3 for 6 pairs) and seem to be doing the trick. Walmart. I think they make them in black and white also.
Edit: I can never get these stupid photos to upload. If you can’t see it, they’re called “On The Go!” Premium comfort top, knee highs. They’re about twice the thickness of pantyhose and I think they’re made of nylon.
wore my lululemon low socks on my first swimrun and they were pretty decent…
