Okay, so this isn’t exactly the sleek & sexy, silver glinting in the sun all aluminium mini trailer that I had initially envisioned, but I still think it’s a bitchin’ way to haul gear.

Are you giving up triathlon for dressage?
Naah - I’d likely end up in jail for transporting a horse in that thing - and would want to have some bars separating me from the equine lovers when they found out! But of course the real reason I’d never stick a horse in there is because the shit would really do a number on that floor!
Very slick. I like it.
Any idea of the weight and dimensions and price? How many bikes can you tie down inside there?
Is it made for bikes or something else?
needs some modification but I totally agree…especially with all the backup/extra gear I usually end up bringing to races…this thing behind my truck (with a new paint job) would be the ultimate tri hauling machine.
There are a couple of factories in my area that make these kinds of trailers. They are all over the place around here. My sister’s husband has one, as does my wife’s stepdad. I’ve always thought they would be perfect for carrying bikes and tri gear. Might be a little difficult to park, but you could work around that.

Now thanks a lot. Something else that I think I need and I have to start researching prices on! Although I could probably pay this thing off in a few seasons driving to IMFL and the like.
you have no idea how lucrative it is to haul bikes to races like IMs. Think about how much safer you’d feel if you didn’t have to take your bike apart to ship it and play with it to find your fit. Think about how much safer you’d sleep knowing someone who had their own bike in the same carrier would be taking the same care not to get your bike lost/stolen too. How much would you be willing to pay for that? So would other people. Any idea how many you could safely fit in something like that? A lot. Times how much you charge for the priviledge…you’d have it paid off a lot sooner than that.

Now you are not helping either! But you are right - I have looked into those hauling services, but question the safety. I hate unpacking and rebuilding my bike and the airline, well…
I would pay plenty to a fellow triathlete with his own steed back there as well - hmm
you could either pack it for safety (face it the money we spend on our machines we all want them there safe) or for profit…pop off the pedals and you could likely get 6 across and maybe 2 deep safely…with packing in between
.
This one was designed as a motorcycle trailer, and measures 5’x12’ - plenty of room for several athletes’ bikes and gear. Not sure how much it goes for, but the 2005 model is around 2k. (The pic is of the 2004 model)
Ideally I’d probably want something a little smaller - maybe 4’x6’, but this would do the job quite nicely.
