Torbjørn can be splitted into:

Tor, who was/is the God of thunder in Nordic-mythology. Riding the clouds in his chariot pulled by goats waving his hammer to create thunder and lightning.

and

Bjørn is the danish word for bear.!

So Thunderbear is not a bad name and Torbjørn likes it too…!
