In-line skating. It doesn’t aggravate the IT band, it works the glutes which are typically weak in IT band sufferers, great workout otherwise, and it’s fun! (Please wear protective gear and helmet.)
I tried that once (maybe twice). I was slower than when I run. Possibly slower than when I swim. Still have the skates lying around somewhere. Should try it again but am terrrified of breaking my ankle or head etc
Actually the wrist guards are very important for this activity. Falling while rollerblading usually leads to a broken wrist…So if you are going to use any protective equipment…and you should use it all…don’t skip the wrist guards.
I have all that stuff too. Half of my reluctance is my embarassment at my appalling lack of natural grace on those things. I hadn’t felt so uncoordinated since I was about six years old. Imagine a giraffe on rollerskates as the 8 year old girls sail past…
