Burrito’s, hands down. I live off them and couldn’t get by without. Inexpensive, filling, taste great. They are the perfect food. And if you get them from the right places they are pretty healthy as well.
How can you pick just one? I am a real food slut, that’s why I race & train, so I can eat what I like. But… if I had to pick one thing, esp pre-training session… it’d have to be the classic PBJ on multigrain. The PB has to be the all natural kind, don’t care if smooth or chunky tho, and the jam has to be raspberry or (better still) blackberry, with the seeds in it.
My training partner and I actually have entered races under the team name of FoodSluts. One race organizer asked us to change the name. We even have a FoodSlut ™ Food Pyramid… I’ll have to dig that out and post it
Is hot sauce a food? I just counted and I have seven bottles of hot sauce and 2 kinds of salsa in the fridge right now. I am starting to run low on Chipotle though. I have often wished I could find an energy gel that is jalepeno flavored or something. I know the active ingredient in peppers boosts endorphin production in your brain. I often use a cup of chicken broth heavily laced with tabasco as a pick me up at work.
