Let’s bring some Kona-series-compilation-like videos back (the ones from 2019). Talbot is a talented videographer; those videos were excellent, too bad we don’t have more. Perfect content for the trainer.
He’s posted a few on IG talking about being injured again but it seems no one cares anymore…
Didn’t see that one coming at all….
They care when the videos come out.
But also, you post this but an hour before he posted that he was back running again. Maybe he shouldn’t have Erin do delayed social posts and do them in real time. Because I doubt that post was current.
No I saw that but the I’m injured post was days ago and crickets.
Good job Slowtwitchers for not being on IG! I have no idea what Lionel is up to unless Talbot makes a video.
Instagram is great for getting all the Triathlon news and gossip . It is non-stop Tri content hitting me all day, every day.
You will have your Lionel fix on YouTube tomorrow.
I guess I thought we would hear more about how the new plan is going. Idk. Maybe there isn’t much to report.
Go watch Jamie Riddle’s video if you want an idea. (More volume)
Any comment on the size frame he’s riding?
He asked ChatGPT the wrong question. The 120g per hour protocol is to yes, fuel the efforts, but also fuel recovery. Just because you have some easier riding in your session doesn’t mean you “need” less carbohydrate because the intensity is less. If he’s going easier and is of the opinion he only oxidizes 75g, if he takes on more that’s for later.
He’s telling us how it’s going, by not having to tell us how it’s going….except for the run injury he apparently has picked up when he briefly noted it on IG (I don’t follow, only know that from upthread). The best training is “nothing new to report” for the most part. And no I’m not suggesting he’s going to suddenly win or podium or even T10 at Kona. Consistent training is simply boring af, nothing about is earth shattering or newsworthy, if you did, it’ll probaly mean your too close to injury.
If it is and aeroad I’d say it is an XS. I went from S to XS in the aeroad as I found it a better fit and I am about the same height as LS. Unless it is the new endurance which has an aero frame.
He seemed very upbeat for another setback. I hope that means things really are going well. How serious was the injury? How far along in the comeback is he? Is Placid still a real possibility? Just curious if anyone knows.
I have no idea as the extent of his injuries, but this is the ‘new’ late-career Lionel we’re seeing. Like it or not, we’re going to be seeing less stunning performances on the world stage, more injuries, but hopefully as well a lot of lessons for him as well as us viewers to learn about dealing with such setbacks in a gracious, non-bitter manner, and finding value in what you do outside of just winning. Some people will tune out, maybe a lot even, but it’s going to be a more balance, mature version of Lionel than the early days where it was more all-in-at-all-costs-or-die.
Unless Lionel is working with OpenAI on some kind of endorsement deal (that would be awesome) the guy needs to stop referencing his conversations with chatgpt and simply say he was talking with his coach or doing some research or something.
His referencing there is just as convincing as if he said, “I was doomscrolling last night and I found a fitness influencer on Instagram talking about…”
Mark on PTN this week called Lionel out for aggressively advocating for some fly by night protocol to his viewers and then three months later saying, oops sorry, He’s half joking but it does make him look like he he lacks critical thinking skills..,which is true.
You know he does things on camera to just wind up slowtwitchers, right? Right?
Yaya, I get that too. The script is a little old though.
