I have been seeing a lot of videos of Taylor snowboarding over the holidays, guess this is the end result. Probably just a week off from running, back on the trainer right away, and maybe a month+ for swimming. Good time to have it if it was in the cards for you I suppose..
You never say never with this lady, but I would be shocked if she were to try her hand at long distance non draft. Of course I was shocked when she alerted us many years ago about her comeback to triathlon tooâŚBut you are correct in that she needs something to push her SC biking to the next level, the one where she doesnât get dropped from a group she is already inâŚ
Happened during training ride
No she said it happened on the slopes.
oops thought i read something about a wheel. rechecked the post

As we were exiting the slopes along a narrow flat path, someone turned into me. I tried to stop but caught an edge on the icy side bank, rolled, & felt pop in my elbow. It was soOo painful.
The diagnosis: a dislocated elbow that partially tore my bicep muscle.. & a lot of swelling. Tendons, ligaments & bones all good. Plus muscle still intact ![]()
Two edges good. Four edges better.
this is why I donât downhill ski or snowboard.. dangerous in a heavy traffic, bad drivers, kind of way.
Iâm perfectly happy in class IV whitewater where the danger can be mitigated with training and learned skills..
At the risk of derailing the Gwen Jorgensen thread even further: as you can see, even professional triathletes, for whom body integrity is mission critical, donât want to wait to start living until theyâve retired.
As for downhill skiing, I find the driving parallel very apt. Thereâs a lot you can to do mitigate risk, and in fact even more than when youâre behind the wheel as other participants of the traffic are easier to avoid and time available for reaction is much longer if you make sure it is.
never seen a car on the slopes. i see eric and paula are skiing a lot on strava now⌠skiimo style
