The new ironman.com

I don’t know what if it’s been posted yet, but…

I didn’t think that Ironman.com could get worse than the site they debuted @ Kona 2011 - I was wrong.

Horrible, bloated - the tracking/race info slideup is annoying as hell.

Can I get the old site back?

Couldn’t agree more. Its not user friendly by any means.

That damn tracker just gets bigger and BIGGER as I slide my finger on my “mobile” devices. It is to dark as well.

Don’t complain, or they’ll try and ‘improve’ it again.

They need to take a lesson from the Amgen Tour of California folks who have an awesome website and amazing mobile apps.

First NYRR debuts a new site that is a mess to navigate and then Ironman decides to copy them :frowning: I’d much rather visit an “old school” site that actually makes sense than these new sites that are not user-friendly at all. These sites are way too busy now- just make it simple to find what I want or may be interested in; else I leave the website in frustration.

Totally agree. It is hard to find races and very hard to track during races. Practically impossible to navigate on a mobile device. One personal gripe I have is that races in the US are labeled as being in “America.” So is Ironman Brazil. They have labeled three distinct geographic regions but their own labeling is inconsistent - it should be “Americas” (or North America or South America and then by country within the continent). The layout is just a jumbled mess right now.

Straight Garbage… took me forever to find the link to Ironman Florida 70.3

The one thing I like about it is it’s relatively easy to find past years race results. They have links to the athlete tracker for every race, every year. Of course NOLA 70.3 doesn’t work, but hey…

When I visit the new ironman.com I get the creepy feeling that my IP address has been stolen by Loki (Avengers) and sold to fitnessingles.com

It is the only explanation I can think of that I am so popular all of a sudden
.

Looks like they heard you. It has now been changed to “Americas.”

I just wish they had a flash intro that took 20 seconds to load and auto-played some music.

Ironic considering their new CEO
.

Agree. Its an overwhelming amount of stuff on one page.

Yes. That stupid red box took away way too much of my screen on my mobile phone. I thought it wold vanish once i clicked on the race I wanted to view. But no. Then I tried to minimize it and it got bigger!

I agree 100% – new site is way over designed. They failed the KISS principle.
I am embarassed for them and for myself for taking this shit so seriously:)

Just went to see the results for IMTX in HTM format. It’s black on black, sorta hard to read.

Also agree it is simply awful on the droid browser.

I noticed this too, graphics overkill…and whats with the Lance Armstrong tab…seems out of place…
