Hi everyone,
I have a question about the new Cervélo P-series. Maybe there are forum members who already have one or who just know a lot about it.
In reviews I read: “They’ve also added an in-frame storage “trap-door” compartment beneath the water bottle bosses on the downtube … Oddly enough, the new P-Series cannot accommodate the downtube-mounted aero water bottle from the previous P-Series … So if you want to mount a water bottle on top of that spare storage trap door, it’ll have to be a standard bottle,”
Now my question is: why would you be able to mount a standard bottle and not an aero bottle? Isn’t the distance between the screws the same? I must be overlooking something.
looks like the little tab you turn to access the storage sticks out a bit and interferes with the aero bottle cage, nothing a few washers/spacers wont fix
It has to do with this little sucker right here. The aero bottle requires a completly flat surface to be mounted. The locking handle keep it from being able to be installed.
Just checked the XLAB Aero TT as well - so you have at least a couple options for aero bottles!
It fits as is (utilizing the slots and our already included larger washers) to move it down, but we added an additional washer to both bolts underneath the cage and clears the switch nicely.
That’s fantastic! I am in the market for a new tri frame and don’t see why I wouldn’t choose the P-Series over the P5. I assume I could build it up to be a similar final weight and with the right base bar, aero extension and stem choice I could completely hide the cables.
I bought a 2025 P-Series Frameset to replace my 2018 BMC TM01. Still boxed no priority to build due to circumstances but agree, thought it was the best bang for buck with great sizing customizability
Any idea what you plan to use for bar setup? I’m considering Profile ASC Pro with the corresponding base bar and stem and wondering if that setup would keep all the cables internal if running shimano Di2.
Profile Design Aeria EVO with Aeria Stem, as you everything routed through.
Reason I went that route is the BMC I had was based off the Aeria and I have lots of accessories for it as well as a set of Aerocoach extensions
