Then why has every President invested so much time and energy into finding a happy solution?
Foremost for Israeli security and safety. Secondly for stability in the region. This dynamic is changing gradually with time.
But the 6 day war that resulted in the vast majority of the west bank and all of Gaza was started by Israel.

The 1967 War’s fighting began with Israeli airstrikes and their invasion of the Egyptian Sinai. While Israel felt threatened, lots of nations have been faced with threats without resorting to attacking their neighbors.
Also, consider the Israeli invasion of Egypt in 1956 (supported and then followed by the British and French).
No one expects Israel (or any other country) to ignore attacks on their citizens and their territory. But you cannot say that Israel never delivers the first attack.

Stopping the settlements is not about stopping rockets coming into Israel.
It’s a large part of it. With Gaza, they just want to lock it down because of Hamas - thus the blockade and other Israeli activity there. But in the Golan Heights, it’s more about pushing potential rocket sites further out, and controlling a buffer from Syria.
Umm, why doe they need to take land and build homes to push rocket sites further out? That makes no sense, you are just moving people’s homes closer to the rocket sites.

No, sorry, it is idiotic to argue the easiest way to prevent people from launching rockets is to build settlements that require a bunch of security to protect the people living there, than just securing the hills. I mean that is what every other military would do.
So after the US has cut off its financial aid to the Palestinians, they are expected to trust an Administration that then says to them, “we want to create financial incentives for you to accept peace.”
This is nothing more than a vain hope that the Palestinians will accept money instead of things they feel entitled to. It will go nowhere, although Trump will try to turn it around on the Palestinians and say they rejected a proposal that would have given them a prosperous future.

Most other militaries don’t defend a nation that’s as small as Israel and also surrounded by enemies. I don’t know why you’re arguing so hard about this and resorting to calling me idiotic, but you obviously haven’t spent any time in Israel or taken any time to expand your understanding. Their policies are fairly predictable if you view them in the lens of what they’ve dealt with year after year.
