First off I made a lot of paper money today positioning my portfolio for a Trump win, so good.

My kids go to private school, so if vouchers are where we are heading, good for me too. Except that private school tuition is going to skyrocket once everyone moves out of the public domain, so remains to be seen.

I will lose on my taxes as we get 3x the child tax credit, so imagine it will just stay the same and not increase as it would have under Harris, so neutral.

Russia is the big winner for sure, I just hope it takes a few years for them to absorb Ukraine and not set their sights on Poland or any other NATO country. Speaking of which, NATO is a big loser as well as any climate accords we have entered into or were going to…

Middle East a big loser, Israel a huge winner, and I believe it will be neutral for Iran. Russia will pressure them into not doing anything stupid, and we will become more partners with those two and China I believe. Taiwan a big loser here, and I can see the US aligning more now with Russia and China. All the tariff talk is just tough talk and eventually Trump will make nice with the biggest dictator in the world.

Little Rocket man and his country big winners, they will fit in with this new 3 country alliance. Yes it looks like there will be peace now, but or normal partners will be gone as the cost of it. So good or bad, depends on who you are and where you live…

Not sure about inflation, we have had it down to 2+ for months now and the fed is lowering rates, so hopefully that trend just holds and continues on that trajectory. The deficit is going to go wild like last time he was in office, he doesnt care two shits about this money that is not his and he can spend to make people richer and happier. Of course no president since Reagan has cared about it either, but Trump super sizes the spending like no other, and I believe the interest on it is now our 2nd largest line item in our budget. This may be the the last shopping spree on the credit card for the USA and no doubt it will be a bigly one…

Just a few thoughts off the top of my head on promises he has made and how they may play out and effect me and my family, what you got??

the denial of this fundamental fact drives me crazy. If you provide additional capital for the purchase of a specific product, the price of that product goes up. Vouchers will not make private school more affordable.

The achievement gap - the difference between poorly performing schools and high performing schools - has been thoroughly studied the causes are well understood. It happens at home. How are private school vouchers going to increase family and community engagement in the education of our youth?

Not me, I understand fully the supply and demand equation. And depending on how much the vouchers are, I can see my tuition doubling at least, perhaps tripeling. Our school can only absorb a few 100 more students physically,

If this Project 2025 agenda does come into play, he has full power to execute at his desire. My wife’s a federal employee and she will lost her job as it will be killed off my him and congress.

Do I think they will go that far? Doubtful, but I am I putting some cash aside if needed? Yes

I’m torn as if these 4 years are as bad as dems think especially from an economy side, then it’s easy to push out the incumbent party. That said, I think we witnessed a change in American politics and what is valued in policy and candidates last night. I think the dems have a huge hill to climb to get back to any sense of power.

I’m trying to predict whether this will metaphorically be a pendulum swing that will reach equilibrium again, or a frog boil where you end up cooked if you don’t get out of the pot.

I can see a possible blue wave in 2026 with perhaps the end of MAGA in 2028 after people realize that Trump hasn’t improved their lives.

I also see that it would have been a lot easier to get out of Germany in 1936 than in 1939.

Economy will need to absolutely tank in 2 years for a 2026 switch. I don’t think it will happen, others disagree including top Economists, but who the hell knows.

Agree. But, global politics could have the same effect – Russia rolls across Eastern Europe, the Middle East boils over, things get really ugly with China/Taiwan/Tariffs. Perhaps unlikely scenarios, but who knows? It’s a brave new world for sure.

Why do you put your kid in private school? What is wrong with the public school in California?

Kids are in a Christian school, and you are right in that most the public schools here in CA are good schools…

Mine too. Others like him will die rather than face a country that spends hundreds of millions demonizing him and others like him.

Do you put them in the Christian school for religious reasons? I never understood the reason to pay for a private school when the public ones are so good, unless you are highly religious.

What does it mean that they will be made illegal? I understand the sentiment is Trans individuals will not be allowed to play sports on teams opposite of their birth sex ( no title 9 inclusion) and they won’t be able to go to bathrooms of their chosen gender but what else is there? And most likely no surgeries or drugs for anyone to make the change prior to age 18, but how will they be made illegal?

This is kind of where I am. I’ll be fine. It seems like some of those who will be most negatively affected didn’t care enough to vote.

2024 Anti-Trans Bills: Trans Legislation Tracker

Missouri wants to make it a felony to help someone socially transition. Florida wants to force employers to not use employees preferred pronouns. Multiple states have passed laws blocking the updating of driver’s licenses. Trump has said he would punish doctors who provide gender-affirming care. Florida has restricted gender affirming care for adults. Nebraska’s governor issued an executive order ending legal recognition of trans people. Florida is working on a bill that would make it felony to use an update drivers license. Florida’s bill would also require that committee members in political parties serve in accordance with the sex listed on their birth certificate, rather than their current gender. It would also mandate that anyone applying for a disabled parking permit provide their sex assigned at birth rather than gender identity.

I could go on but this shit gets tiring. There is a very organized group of people that want to eradicate trans people from public life.
