All I can say is wow. I thought my 55 yesterday was ground-breaking…
I did pretty much the same thing as ironclm with the following exceptions:
I talked to my daughter on the phone, not her dad. I set a PR for the most miserable I have been in a 10k (heat is not my friend) did some name calling post race after showering I got a mani/pedi instead of emailing
.
We have (maybe I have) an understanding? She’s as significant as it gets when it comes to the other at the moment. I’ve never given her any reason to expect anything else. I’m doing what I was doing when we met. So she understands 98% of the time.
Edit: You’re making me feel bad Ken.
Had an amazing Day!
After a tough week of training, Wife and I did a 16-mile trail run on Mt. Tam in Marin. From Mtn. Home, took the Matt Davis Trail to the Coastal Trail. The views of Stinson Beach, Faralon Islands, etc were amazing. Turned around after a while and went back to Pantoll; took the Dipsea for a short while and then connected back into a trail that took us just below Mtn. Home where our car was parked. Gotta love trail running. My legs felt amazing both during and after the run.
Went into Tiburon for an amazing breakfast and a few too many cups of coffee with friends.

The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race right here in Breckenridge. Took me 5:40:25, which wasn’t too bad, considering I started super slow. Beautiful day for a ride. Many of the “big guns” were here b/c it was USA Cycling’s Marathon Mountain Bike National Championship. Then drank beer. No fireworks here, though, due to the high forest fire danger.
Well just to make you feel better, my quads hurt today. But it’s a good hurt!
Sitting in the car at 7:30 am waiting for the rain to stop so I can start a 112 mile race rehearsal. Forecast calls for thunderstorms off and on all day. About a minute from pulling the plug when the rain lets up for a bit. I say f*** it, do the ride w/ one stop at the car to switch bottles. It rains for about 60% of the ride to some degree or another.
Wound up with 115 miles in a good time considering the rain. 5 mile run afterwards, Mexican restaurant, snow cone, then a 3 hour nap. A good day.
I love holidays for training.
