I’m sure that by now everyone here knows the relationship between Puma & adidas, right?
No it’s the Etonic Alfha 1 with a plate to give more spring to the run. I can’t seem to get a picture of the ad to upload. Will try again.
I’d always considered the Spira the first super shoe with their springs. They’re actually still around. Then came the Newton. Never ran in either.

That’s the one I was thinking of, too

interesting… any more back story to this shoe and why it did not make it?
Probably because Etonic couldn’t put a first-place athlete in them, like NIKE, adidas, Brooks or Saucony could, so it went unnoticed
Plus, kind of ugly
.
dont think so, in the puma-adidas story a mediocre athlete started dropping fast times which raised eyebrows
