@bt @spudone thx. @spudone I am nothing but persistent w workers comp. dealing w them was bad enough, this is larger and worse
I understand. I hope that things work out somehow for you.
That stinks, Doc - I truly hope next week is better for you and you can get some relaxation in this weekend.
- Jeff
I hope things are ok, and you’re able to keep your spirits up. Sucks about the worker’s comp, I hope you get someone on the phone who can do things for you instead of having to chase them down all the time. Take care!

I had SUCH a painful day yesterday
I don’t know how the human body can live through such pain
I hope today is a better day for you!
It’s because the human body is incredibly strong and resilient.
Moreover, YOU are incredibly strong and resilient! You will get through this, Doc - hang in there! We’re all here for you!
- Jeff
Safe travels. Sorry you are hurting so much.
I wish I knew how to help. You will make it through this and I am so sorry you have to deal with such a terrible situation.
thanks, all. @bt @jkstevens @GFD
feeling v depressed today. sorry to just keep whining, but it helps to have a space to share daily-ish. (I dictate-journal too).
Post everyday. It helps. And never worry about whining, complaining, celebrating, or anything else you need to do.
I always tell my patients to feel free to whine, cry, complain, swear,…its ok. It helps. We are here to listen and support
Well, in the spirit of misery loves company, I chimed in on some posts with GFD a while back, commiserating with him because I have chronic pain from an anterior C4-7 fusion followed by a posterior C4-7 fusion 6 months later, about 5 years ago. My sob story includes three overnight hospitalizations in one recent year at different hospitals and 2 states. I’m like both of you in that I was extremely active with lots of IM and other stuff but my neck shit took me out of that. I think I last posted with GFD in April after I had a heart attack 3 days after turning 60. I have been reading your posts and trying to send all of this wonderful positive energy of mine to both of you, but my positive energy has been in short supply lately. (Sorry, no thoughts and prayers.) Our situations are all very different, of course, but we do have some similarities. I’ve been a workers’ compensation claimant’s attorney for over 30 years so I know what a pain in the ass that can be for claimants. Plus, 4 days ago I had a right/dominant hand ulnar nerve decompression and submuscular transposition surgery. (I had bilateral ular nerve releases at both elbows in 2023.) I still have cubital tunnel syndrome in my left elbow and new guyan’s canal compression in my left wrist, but they are not disabling. They are nowhere near what Dr Tiger Chick is experiencing. and my neck bullshit is nowhere near what GFD is experiencing. The last few days are kind of a blur but things seem a tiny bit better today. I will continue to watch from the cheap seats and chime in occasionally if I think it might be helpful. I know from experience that sometimes that can be difficult to stop a downward spiral. I think both of you are doing great with that though. I will continue watching from the cheap seats and rooting you both on.
hi @Matthew
how do u feel 4d post op?
glad u r here on the thread
My surgery was on Monday. I really haven’t slept well since then. Several nights in each leg with 2 hours or less. Every night when I go sleep I wake up and terrible pain that I eventually get under control. Overall I think I’m doing okay considering that the surgeon told my wife that he had to clean the scar tissue off of the nerve before he transposed it. Personally, not thrilled to hear about the handling he did of my nerve, but I also appreciate that you took the time to clean the nerve up and then transpose it.
I guess I’m par for the course at this point. I don’t like to sleep deprivation and I don’t like the nerve pain but I’m glad to have gotten it over with. I think it’s going to take a bit of time just to recover from the surgery and let the nerve settle into its new home. I’m told I’ll have physical therapy after this. I just want to get to the point where I’m able to exercise again and hopefully move past this. I will try to post any milestones for you.
My wife keeps wanting to rewrap a new Ace wrap around my “bulky splint” so I guess we may try to do that coming up. But that’s not really a milestone. I’m hoping to hear that you’re doing well or at least as good as you can be. I also hope things go well with you on your workers’ comp claim.
Hugs.
