I just wanted to give all those who are interested in in Ultra-stuff a heads up about the doco-movie about my old mate Ferg Hawke and his Badwater prep and race.The movie is all about Fergs crazy obsession with the event and how he went about racing it.Ferg is a great guy and a Canadian Ultra-legend and he shares his Badwater experience with the likes of Dean Karnazes,Scott Jurek,Dave Goggins and many others.
It is a truly inspirational movie that will keep you all motivated when you feel like missing that training session or two.

I’d be interested to see this. Several years ago there was an extremely limited theatrical release of another documentary on Badwater called “Running on the Sun”. A great subject for a doc.

Ive watched both films. Distance of Truth takes a different approach and is just as good, if not better. I highly recommend it. Ferg is a great guy and it is interesting to watch him prepare.

I love that movie. It makes you really really never want to run badwater. Coolest thing about it is that it is kinda before the whole modern clothing and nutrition thing took off. Think I have to order the new one just to have the set…

Ultra-runners have the worst looking feet but Fergs were pretty extreme by even those standards.

Nick, my gal got me this DVD for xmas, but it hasn’t arrived yet. I can’t wait to see it! By the way, Ferg and I spoke on the phone last week and had a great conversation. What a cool dude. After chatting with him, I’m definitely shooting for Badwater 2010!

Sign me up for crew as well. I come in a pair as a good friend of mine crews as well. We have 2 years experience and plan on going back this year! I’m hoping for 2011 for my debut.
