The Curse is Lifted: Cubs Give Steve Bartman a Word Series Ring

Feel-good story of the day?

During the 2003 National League Championship Series, Steve Bartman was the Cubs fan who reached out of the stands and interfered with Cubs outfielder Moises Alou’s attempt to catch a ball. And once again the Cubs failed to win. He became the Cub Fan Condemned To Permanent Hell.

However, the Cubs – in seeking to put their cursed past behind them (including a World Series drought of historic proportions) – recently gave the much-maligned Bartman a World Series ring. How about that for some turnabout? LOL!

"After months of parading the Commissioner’s Trophy around the country, making two White House trips and hanging out with celebrities, the Cubs finally made peace with one of the most mistreated figures during their historic World Series drought.

The team announced Monday that Steve Bartman, who has lived a private life since his infamous involvement in Game 6 of the 2003 National League Championship Series, recently received a 2016 World Series ring."

Seeking closure, Cubs give World Series ring to Steve Bartman - Chicago Tribune

Good for the Cubs organization. But fuck those loser fans who went after him. I hope he sells the ring for millions.

Bartman was wrongly vilified. Moises Alou even said he would have never caught the ball. Screw the Chicago Cubs, they deserve another 100 year baseball drought.

How can this be a feel good story? Did any bad guys get shot?

Anyway, good for Bartman. This whole thing was stupid. The Cubs imploded. That was not and never will be his fault.

Didn’t he already have a 2003 World Series ring that he received from the Marlins?

(Baseball fans are way too serious.)

Hey, I’m a reformed troll, remember? My feel-good stories are actually about feel good stuff these days.
