My god has anyone else seen this film. Friggen amazing and as a guy who is adopting 2 kids really makes me understand them better. I will tell all of you triathletes out there who want a heart felt god challenge - open your home to some kids that need help - love kindness and just support. The boy we are adopting is a tremendous athlete. He turned 13 last week and is 5 9 120 - he ran cross country this fall and won 3 races and placed no less then fifth at the invitationals. But being a runner and athlete I had to pull him off the team which he was the best runner because he started getting d’s. I see so much athletism in him and he knows I value that. But I will tell you after 7 ironmans - over 100 triathlons - adventure racing and being in the marine force recon, this step in my life is the hardest by far. very fullfilling at times but my lord it kicks my ass some times. I just want all of you to know that we all need to help more kids out there if only for a day. There are so many Mike oher’s out there and when you start the journey to help the kids the ironman becomes a real nothing in your life. I challenege all the great men and women on this great site to make one step and help the next generation - the love you recieve will be worth more than the fastest ironman time on the planet. peace , love and cry lots when you see the movie. forcerecon mark
haven’t seen the movie yet, but I read the book last year. The story is great and very inspirational. I hope Michael Ore has a hugely successful NFL career.
I wept most of the time. I really feel connected with those who come from hardship so I couldn’t help but to tear up almost from the very beginning.
Saw it yesterday and believe it to be the most inspirational sports movie I have ever seen. My wife and I definitely feel that adoption is in our future and that we will adopt within the US since I feel many look to go over seas instead of helping with those that are need right here in our hometowns.
