Once again, many thanks. I followed the thread below to the best of my ability today and reaped immediate rewards.

Started out doing the thing on dry land, and worked on it during the warm up, and then went on to lead the lane for every lap today, and taking an average of 3 seconds off of my 100’s! This will probably lead me to move over to the next lane soon, which thrills me.
I noticed, for the first time, what it felt like to have real leverage against the water with my forearms, and stopping the pull early kept my lower half from swinging back and forth as it normally does. My feet stayed right behind me. I was less tired and able to swim faster - a win/win!
The new “feel”, however, allowed me to confirm something I’ve noticed many times - I simply cannot make my left arm pull down with a high elbow. I breathe mostly to the right and suspect I have no body roll to the left, which is probably preventing me from achieving a proper arm position. But at least now I can concentrate on it as the other aspects of swimming just got a lot easier.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the feedback. It is a pleasure to serve you.

Doug-
Many thanks again for coming to Burlington, Vermont. In just that hour I spent with you (before you actually started the 3 day clinic that I wasn’t able to attend)----you fixed a bad habit that has plagued me for years. My left hand always entered waaay out in front rather than slipping in parallel to the opposite elbow. My right arm was OK. Basically I was never getting good catch on my left-----I was swimming one sided. Now that you helped me fix that I am getting serious traction on both sides. I just did an indicator set of 10 x 100 on 1:30. I came in on 1:20 for every one of them and was very comfortable. This is unheard of for me—it wasn’t long ago that I couldn’t even make all the 100s on 1:30 but to have 10 full sec of rest??? sweet Thank you very much.
What was it that you did to get those instant results? I’d like to try it but can’t find the post that describes it.
Thanks
