Tell me again why everyone thinks the chicken can't descend? spoiler

What a race, it is a two man race now, Levi’s team threw him under the bus today, and it is all Contradors to lose now for Disco. The chicken played it perfect, and got into a postition where George had to work for him on that downhill. DOes anyone still think the chicken cannot win this race now!!! 7 or 8 attacks from Cotrrador, and he covered every one of them, while the other contenders culd just take a back seat. It will be more of the same on Wed. and those two will fight it out in the tt… Never will the 10th through 20th tt guys be so exciting…

It’s still a long way to Paris, and I have the sincere hope that you’ll learn to spell Alberto’s name by then.

Unless the chicken completely blows the final TT, then the tour is his to lose… Great mano e mano between him and contador on the last climb today…

Who said he can’t descend? The guy has great bike-handling skills… notwithstanding his St. Etienne crashes…

Look people, the chicken has even taken the wind out of Paulo’s sails, were on to spelling errors for our attacks today…(-;

It was too bad that the cars got in the way at the top of the climb, I think Contador had the chicken in a “spot of bother” at that point, but it was too close to the summit for it to matter anyway. Lets see what happens on Wednesday when the final climb is much, much longer.

You only say chicken because you can’t spell Rasmussen… admit it, come on!

I’d like to see Contador do those attacks on the aubisque early and see if the Chicken can hang.

Wednesday will be the day. The climb of Col d’Aubisque will be like a rolling bar fight.

Monty, is the Chicken paying you for PR? :wink:

Jesus Monty, do you have a man crush on Rassmussen???

I would like to see Disco to try and get a guy or two (Hincapie/Popo) into and early break and then have Contador attack on the 2nd to last climb, join up with this teammates and get pulled to the base of the bottom climb while the Chicken has to make a chase on his own.

If they can’t get some guys into any early break, then the final climb will be a huge battle. Either way, I am glad that I will be able to watch the stage live on Wednesday. It should be fun.

I love hard working underdogs. I liked him these past couple years going for the KOM, and I always thought he could be a podium guy in a hilly tour. THe real question is, why some of you hate him so much??? I’m as patroitic as the next guy, but I just want to see an exciting race. Besides, if Levi were to actually win, the French just might all go to the kool aide bar… And besides, you know how much I like being right!! (-;

Et tu, Brute?

I love hard working underdogs.

Exactly… that’s why I like El Pollo Flaco as well…

Chicken just isn’t very charismatic to begin with, and the missed drug tests and doping allegations are not helping his popularity.

Now where have I ever said I’m rooting for Levi (or any American rider actually). Patriotic has nothing to do with it. My fave is a Swiss, I’m rooting for a Spaniard, my fave team is Danish, I’m also rooting for a Kaz to shake things up.

I don’t like Rass because there is just something not right in all the stories. When his fellow riders and journalists covering the Tour even think so (see David Millar’s and Martin Duggard’s Tour blogs), we’ll that says something to me. And besides, he’s a geeky-looking dork. I like my riders dark haired and handsome. :wink:

Aaah, I get it, you like your riders in the order you would like to date ( or whatever) them… I get it now, like how I watch tennis. #1 Kournokova…(-;

Here’s the thing with Chicken Rasmussen: When a podium spot was on the line in a 55km time trial in 2005, he looked like a monkey humping a football on his bike. Two crashes and two bikes changes later he’d dropped 8 mins. I’m not saying he’s going to do that on Saturday by any means, but history shows the guy could well crack under pressure…

Bob

or history shows he had an unlucky fall which gave him a concussion making him a retard for the rest of the day.

can happen to anyone
