Tell me about where to eat in Vegas

Heading there tomorrow…last minute thing and no time to reasearch much…going to Slowtwitch Approved Panera Bread…any other suggestions of healthy reasonably priced or over the top badass Vegas style food places?

I’m not going to do all of the work for you, but there was a great thread on this a few months ago. Apparently there is a terrific Thai place in Vegas (not on the strip though, if memory serves). The last time I was out there we had good sushi at Social House (in Treasure Island)…

Oh yeah, go to the Thai place. Really good! Cheap food but off the strip so the cab ride there and back pretty much evens out any savings you have on the food. But so nice to get off the strip if you’re not a Vegas person.

Bouchon is great too (more pricey, but on the strip)

Go for the Mandalay Bay buffet, good stuff, also the noodle house.

You need to listen to us. Go to Lotus of Siam, the best Thai outside the home counrty. Off the strip about 1.5 miles, but way better than anything on the strip by far.

If you go to Slots-O-Fun (next to Circus Circus) you can get a giant hotdog for $1.

If you want over the top, Vegas does not disappoint:

All you can eat. As many times as you like. All day long. Awesome.

check out Battista’s italian place. You won’t regret it. Just when you go in the front door and you’re in the little foyer, ring the bell and wait. They will come to you. First time I was there I walked in on a Sinatra/Martin duet these two regulars were doing with wireless mics walking around and the corn field scene from Casino was playing on the big screen. The italian food pretty much lived up to that first impression. I think (!) its on Flamingo near the Hilton. Reasonably priced.

you’ve probably already left Vegas tho

Having lived in Vegas for going on 18 years now, I can make a few recommendations:
Lotus of Siam - Gourmet Magazine rated this small, unassuming, thai restaurant the best thai food in North America (Sahara and Commercial Center) Table 34 - One of the best continental couzine restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s one of those places that you want to go to EVERY night for dinner. The specials are generally AWESOME!!! (Warm Spring and I-215 - near airport) Burger Bar - If you are going to see Carrotop (I highly recommend seeing his show), the Burger bar is in the walkway between Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Best veggie burger I’ve had in Vegas. Rincon De Buenos Aires - Fantastic Argentinian food. The best Chimichurri sauce I’ve ever had. (Spring Mountain and Decatur) Changs - best dim sum in Vegas (Decatur between Tropicana and Flamingo)
Other great restaurants I really enjoy out here -
Little Budha at Palms Margaritaville - Get the Perfect margarita - expensive, but well worth it) Mon Ami Gabi - Best escargot I’ve found in town (Paris Casino) Olives - grweat food and a great view of the Bellagio fountains (Bellagio)
Hope this helps,

Feel free to PM me if you want any more info.
