Taylor Knibb's Custom Trek Speed Concept Project One

Has anybody punctured on tts ?

Well, in the men’s race according to Ryan,11 of the top 15 bike splits were on 5000TTs, so I’d say they are “ok”.

What I love about @marcag he is brings a lot of data.. what drives me nuts about him… It’s nothing but data…

I’ll try real hard not to bring any more data.

Just add some logic with it…

Well knibb would have gotten a lot closer to the finish line on tts …
approx 8 ish more min before game over. Depending on carb to fat ratio she was oxidycing.

I love stuff like this because it’s a vacuum…

100% she would without a doubt won the race if she would have only had those tires on for sure…. Lucy would have too..

Yes the tires would have brought her core temps down and hydration levels up , and a full aero helmet would have help more too.

If She would have done those two things she would have been 60 seconds more ahead of Lucy at the start of the run and passed out at 32 km instead of 39.8 .

But they have gluten so LCB would have been done in anyways.

Do you think someone spikes her bottles with gluten!!! Mark mattews was in t1 putting ice in kats helmet?

Taylor knowingly chose to expend more energy to minimize flat risk. Perfectly legitimate decision.

She didn’t flat…that’s good

She ran out of energy, by oh so little.

Answer this : can you see why this decision could be questioned ?

Shouldn’t good data inform what is logical?

But she did wear socks, so maybe that evened things out

Is there a chance certain tires on some bikes don’t have as drastic a difference?

Not really. On good roads, at the right pressure, tires are pretty predictable.

Without testing the rider in the tunnel and on the road yourself how do you know, otherwise we’re reliant on data from a wheel manufacturer.

But I’ll split the difference on 8 minutes and say it’s 4 minutes. That saves enough energy for her to finish in first.

But we don’t know because she was 1.6M away and had she kept going she’s in.

Tires are not rider dependent other than weight

These tires have been tested extensively by independent 3rd parties

That truly is it?

Just weight?

Not tire size, wind speed, wind direction, wheel size, pressure, fork, rider comfort?

None of those play into effect past the data from BRR?

I would have to use data to explain
