A friend of mine just started winter running. He is 6’4" and weighs 175. He is a size 33" waist and size 35" inseam. I checked PI, Performence, Sugoi, Craft etc. Cannot find a vendor who does size Tall tights?
Anyone with more information?
Thanks.

I doubt he really needs tall. Asics Myles pants and tights fit me OK. Adidas Response something-or-other also fit me fine. I am taller than your friend. More ankle shows, but they work.
The only tall size I have ever found is in Roadrunner Sports crappy model tight.
I have a 34" waist and 34" inseam and have been using Brooks loose running tights( ?). I have a couple pair that I really like. One pair with pockets, pleats and little fancy piping around the ankle zippers. Another plain pair, but they have both worked out well. For biking I use knee warms and leg warmers rather than tights.
I don’t really wear tight tights anymore. When I did the length was more important than the diameter. If they were too short the crotch would wear out pretty quickly because they would get pushed down like low riders. But maybe I am just sensitive about wearing floods.
I am 6’3"+, 175, w/ 35" inseam, and I use DeSoto fleece tights in a size large. They fit great, are long enough (go down to the tops of my defeet socks for complete coverage) and are perfect for keeping the chill away when running and riding. Not so good for keeping me warm when I swim, though…

I’m 6’6 190lbs. My inseam is 37 inches.
I really struggle to find running tights. I’ve scoured the internet and haven’t found any. So if anyone could post a link to real “tall” size tights that would be great.
Right now I use this as a base: http://www.rei.com/product/731711
and this as an outer layer: http://www.rei.com/product/739168
I use that for running and cycling in the cold.
REI as has some power stretch tights. I have the power stretch top which is really good. Since i have to two products above I haven’t bought this one. http://www.rei.com/product/739098
I’m 6’4" with a 36" inseam. Bought a pair of Hind XL Long tights a couple weeks ago. More than long enough for me.
Aren’t they meant to end mid-calf? ![]()
I have a 31" waist, 36" inseam and have given up any hope of finding tights that fit. I rarely find the exposed portion of leg gets cold when running, but if it’s really cold, long socks do the trick. I find that the tights with panels cut to fit around the knee are not even worth trying, so maybe your friend could try the more simple versions and just wear them with that oh so stylish gap between sock and tight - it’s all the rage for 2008 I hear.
I haven’t seen the Hind tights mentioned above, I might try to track some down.
Did you look at the Sporthill or Hind brands?
Another vote for Hind. I’m 6’ 5" and the pair that I have are plenty long.
35" inseam, 32" waist. I’ve never been able to find tights for the tall, so just get standard tights, yank 'em up and buy long socks to cover the ankles and lower leg. The Pearl Izumi range of tights fits fairly well, show less leg than most…
So if anyone could post a link to real “tall” size tights that would be great.
I am 6’7" and I prefer the Asics Myles or Adidas in regular sizing to these, but here you go:
Maybe this is his solution…
Belgian Knee Warmers
Works for the Spring Classics, why not for NY road runs?
I also am in the same conundrum. 6’4", 170ish. Learning to love my “Capri’s”…I mean tights…I mean, alright, there’s no manly way to talk about this subject.
For those who can’t find tall tight or other big and tall garments , I can do custom tights.
I work at Hidden Bay Sports so we have all of the proper materials, elastics and zippers if needed.

I have a 36in inseam so find it hard to find cycling/running tights. I now have a collection as I buy whenever I find them. I have Sporthill tights. They make GREAT stuff. Their 3SP stuff for the very cold days are awesome! I also have Pearl Izumi tights in tall. These are very hard to find, but PI does make them. I got mine at LLBean - at the store in Freeport, not the catalog. LLBean has such good customer service I am sure you could call the actual store in Freeport Maine and they would sell them over the phone and ship. PI also has outlet stores, so may be able to call one of those and ask them about the talls. I have also bought a lot of tall tights from Nashbar. Performance does not have tall, but Nashbar sells their own brand in tall and they fit and are just fine (cheaper too!). Also double check REI website, they sell a lot of things in tall as I have bought their stuff. Not sure if they have tall tights though or not…
I am 6’4" with a 34"/35" inseam. I have a pair of Sahalie/Early Winters “winter” tights that fit great and are long enough to bunch up at the ankle a bit. They’re not exactly “performance” but they are warm and durable.
