Tacx Flux S troubleshooting

Greeting overmind. I got a brand new Tacx Flux S.

I’m debating whether I unluckily got a lemon or if I’m missing something in the set up. I can connect it to BT and ANT+, it’s detected as controllable, power and cadence in all apps (Tacx, Zwift, XERT, etc.). I can read power and cadence from it no issue. However, there is no control whatsoever in any app, any mode (ERG, slope, sim, etc.). Basically, at this point it’s just a flywheel with no resistance.

Green power light blinks all the time (which I think is fine). BT light is always on (when conected). ANT+ light is never on. Firwmare on the trainer is listed as 3.3.45/1.1.6, even though the latest firmware it checks on the web is 3.3.40/1.1.6. Tacx utility app sees the device as ANT+ or BT but other than that, nothing really out of the ordinary.

Am I missing something or I should just return this unit?

Sounds like a lemon. There’s a great support group on Facebook groups, I’d ask there before returning it. Wouldn’t surprise me if wiping the firmware and reinstalling it would fix it. Definitely make sure you’re choosing the ANT+ connection, it’s a lot stronger and more reliable than Bluetooth.

Following. Had the same experience. Perfect with ANT, useless with Bluetooth.

Life’s too short so switched for an H3.

I managed to make it work under BT, via the Tacx Training app. So at least I know the trainer can actually work.

But… it only works in the Tacx app, only through BT. Nothing else works either via BT or ANT+ (tried ipads, phones, PC…).

Rolled back firmware, no difference. I might exchange it for another brand, I’ll see with the store tomorrow I guess :expressionless:
