You seem at time to understand the contract terms, have inferenced having seen them, I’m wondering 1. Have You? 2. If they’re feeding this stuff to anonymous folks, why not be transparent?

If it helps you, by all means infer that.
I was told details of a December 2023 contract (for 2024) but all other insight is drawn/inferred from ‘open source’ eg MX, athlete interviews, PTN and what others have posted here on ST.
I note that LCB has just produced a ‘heading for Singapore’ insta post, so she’s going to race.
Whe I saw the Frejus date in late June - just with Ironman Nice and after Les Sables - is such a strong show to me they don’t care about age groupers at all really. There are really enough 70.3 triathlons in June already in France - and any of them is more sensibly priced than what they are offering atm, and likely at least on par in terms of organization, at least when it comes to experience of running the race.

Are there “really enough middle distance races in June in France”?
IM70.3s all sold out afaics. Which other races would you recommend? Has their entry been affected by this T100 parvenu?
T100 Fréjus (French Riviera - Cote d’Azur) amateur entry is €378.
Certainly the PTO have less “experience running races”.
Yes, plenty of 70.3 races that time of the year - on top of IM Aix and Tours in late May & early June as well as the IM race in Nice (full & 70.3) and Les Sables, Netherlands, Switzerland, etc, we have
- Deauville in Normandie, very popular,
- Lac d’Annecy (same date),
- Vichy (same date),
- Half Alpsman,
- Triathlon de Chantilly,
- Openlakes,
- Champman,
- Chtriman,
- Triathlon d’Embrun, and
- the cult-classic T24 in Ile de Re.
Many of those races have both Half as well as Olympic distance.
I am not sure how entries have been affected, but it seems - as I posted before - Challenge Cagnes-sur-Mer was cancelled this year. If it is in response to T100 Frejus, I’d only presume, given the London T100 takeover.
Had they placed the T100 race 2-3 weeks later it would have been much smarter for sign-ups, as July is much less full in the Tri club calenders. August is usually holiday season so hard to make events then.
Of course, PTO can hardly pay attention to the local needs of athletes, seeing how May & June is packed with potential races. I just wouldn’t be surprised if the age group field is lackluster, also given the high price - I hope next year they plan it a bit better.

[Triathlons in France in June] we have:
- Triathlon de Chantilly,

“PTO can hardly pay attention to the local needs of athletes.” Agree: they are putting a year long race calendar for 40 Pro athletes. It was scheduled for mid May: I don’t know why it was postponed to late June. July is ‘holiday season’ in France as well isn’t it? So I guess host towns/communities have no need to impose a triathlon and its demands when they’re already ‘full’.
Passed through Chantilly (on a bike) en route to Nice to watch the IMWC in Nice last September and recall thinking: what a great place for a triathlon.
Yes, original May date or at least July would have been great. It’s really August that France goes into full summer mode and the country stands still for a full month. Takes some getting used to as a foreigner.

That’s one hell of a bike route to go from North of Paris to Nice!?

Off topic. Newhaven > Dieppe ferry with the first overnight in Chantilly. A train took some of the (mid trip) strain.
London-Edinbugh-London this summer, immediately before T100 London. Then maybe I’ll reprise the trip to Nice to watch the men.
With Pearson not racing Singapore, I assume the PTO have invited the top man on the Waiting List to replace him:
Jannik Schaufler GER
Megan MacDonald (GBR) is top of the WPro list: ‘ready and willing’.
Pearson said his crash was a few weeks back so hopefully he did the right thing and notified PTO as soon as he found out he had a broken bone and would be out for Singapore. It is unusual they haven’t announced someone yet. Singapore supposedly takes a bit of time to prep for with heat acclimatisation etc. Maybe they havent decided on someone yet.
From the insta (below) Pearson hoped to be strong enough but 3 days ago (23rd March) he decided he wasn’t going to be able to race. I expect the PTO will tell us who has said ‘yes’ from the waiting list, if not Schauffler (who has been Luis’ training partner in the UAE just now (so heat acclimated)).

No surprise there… Taylor Knibb pulls out of Singapore
Oh FFS

[18th March] Eighteen days to T100 Singapore.
We now know (from the IM ‘A Fat Chance’ youtube) that Knibb will seek to KQ at IM Texas (26th April, 3 weeks after Singapore).
Given her (and Lorang’s) attention to detail, I shall be surprised if Knibb races Singapore ftw.

I am fully confident that she will race. I don’t see her doing anything else - if she doesn’t, my superfandom will be grossly deflated, and I’d eat my trisuit.
Happy munching!
Wow - a choad jam shammich, can’t wait.
What’s more fun is that it looks like you’ve been waiting to pounce…nice
I’m gutted
When the T100 money dries up and can’t attract more people to set money on fire for it, I hope the athletes do a bit of reflection on how their inability to give a shit about the series was a factor in it going away.

100%…I am just astounded that the T100 organizers seem to let the contracted athletes do whatever the hell they want and still keep their contracts…I hope there isn’t a bunch of whining from the Pro’s when the gravy train dries up and the race series that is paying them not to race goes bust.

What’s more fun is that it looks like you’ve been waiting to pounce
No, just back from supper at the pub (England) and Taylor’s insta was there: as I said: 9 days to go: and the “I’m really looking forward to racing T100 Singapore” posts are flooding in, some more gross than others.
Impressed I am with Knibb and Lorang grasping the nettle.
Next on the Wait List is Meg McDonald: she has 4 days to get there and acclimate. She has been deliberately doing some heat prep at home (21st March) in case she gets this start, per her youtube:
Still waiting to hear who Pearson’s replacement is.
This was also my first reaction: “this is bulllllllshit, either you’re in or not”.
Then I remembered the 2024 race in Singapore (plus aftermath) and became a bit more sympathetic to the evading athletes. The PTO took their most cruel race venue and made it “mandatory”. In March. Why are they so stubborn?
