Syntace C2 aero bars - replacement?

I have the Syntace C2 aero bars on my bike. It seems like I need to move the aero bars back some to make my postition more comfortable, but the bars don’t allow this movement. Is there another set of aero bars that would allow for this type of adjustment or should I be looking for a shorter stem? I can’t move the seat any farther forward either.

You could go to a shorter stem, assuming that you’re not on a short stem now, but an easier solution is to get adjustable aero bars. There are quite a number of different bars that have adjustability.

The C2’s are an old design but they are still the gold standard for comfort. If you’re comfy on them another solution is to get the next smaller size C2, unless you’re on the size small already.

I have Syntace bars; with a shorter stem, I am comfortable and have the aero position I see in all the “critique my position” pictures on this forum.

I had this exact same dilemma. On Slowman’s rec I went to a Vision base bar and mounted a set of the Profile T2’s to it. The Profile bars absolutely allow you to get lower and closer and they are MUCH more adjustable than Syntace. BUT if you’re like me you’re fond of the way your Syntace bars curve up where your shifters (assuming you have bar ends) are located. This is my lone complaint of my new set-up.

It “feels” more aero/faster but I also feel more squirrely and less in control Perhaps if I didn’t have to “hang” my hands over the end of the bars I’d feel differently. Anyway, I still have Syntace bars on my old bike and like them very much. Although to be fair, I’d been on them for 6 seasons so I was also very used to them. Personally I’ve tried both and like the upturned hand position more than the sexy, cool, S-bend bars that you see everywhere these days.
